There are several ethical perspectives that individuals can consider when making moral decisions. Three commonly discussed ethical perspectives are consequentialism, deontology, and virtue ethics.  Getting to know the various perspectives can enable us to visualize a framework for ethical quality..

1. Consequentialism:

Consequentialism focuses on the outcomes or consequences of actions. Some philosophers believe that action is significant because of the consequences it produces and therefore focus on the outcomes or consequences of actions. It indicates that the morality of an act depends upon the consequences of the whole act or the greates amount of good it will secure. Utilitarianism, an influential member of consequentalist theory, advocates for a societal objective that aims in achieving the highest level of overall homwearffess. However, in addition to making determinations about moral correctness, consequentialism can equally shed light on problem-solving as it forces people to contemplate the possible consequences and evaluate the impacts of these actions.

2. Deontology:

Deontology is the one that emphasizes the ethical duty and responsibility of the agents of accepting and following certain rules or principles. It implies the use of the moral rules or duties as a basis for determining the moral nature of the act; irrespective of whether or not it results in the good. The breath of a philosophical thought by Immanuel Kant who is the originator of the categorical imperative- the deontological theory which revolves around the universality and stability of ethical principles. The study of deontology can be a source of information that affects the moral decisions considering the common principles of conduct that may lead to negative results.

3. Virtue Ethics:

Virtue Ethics thus accentuates the personal development of moral virtues and virtuous character traits. It proposes that the ethics of a deed depend on the qualities and virtues of the person executing that act. Virtue ethics essentially boils down to assuming human virtues like sincerity, kindness, and integrity. Acquired insight into virtue ethics may serve as a moral decision-making foundation by providing a framework for the development of virtuous personality traits and the practice of the corresponding virtues.

By being aware of these opposing ethical views, people can think about what drives moral behavior in a more complicated way. They can ascertain the possible implications of their deeds, evaluate whether they are living up to ethical codes or norms or not and also may consider whether enhancement of ethical traits is needed for self-development. This thinking provides people as a matter of fact a tendency to look at life in a broad view, thus using their decisions to be  more informed and of noble character.
